Greetings 4-H Families!
Hard to believe that it is already time for the 2021 LaGrange County 4-H Fair! We know that you are all busy with summer activities and gearing up for the Fair Week just as we are. As we are getting ready, we wanted to touch base and make you aware of a couple of things.
We are grateful to be heading in a direction that appears to be returning to some “normalcy” for Fair Week. Masks will be recommended but not required, wash hands properly and often, use hand sanitizing stations and practice social distancing. Although there are no strict guidelines in place this year, we do ask that everyone use their best judgment and function within their own comforts.
This year there will be changes to the pricing and structure of Gate Admission to the Fair. For the last few years, we have been using the electronic ticketing system, Etix, for the sale of grandstand tickets, and this year it will be expanded to operate gate admissions as well. Following is an outline explaining what changes are taking place.
Admission pricing will now be per person and is as follows:
- Daily Pass: $3.00 per person
- Season Pass: $21.00 per person (seven admissions included)
- Kids 3 and under are free.
- 4-H Members are free
Passes can be purchased at the gate when entering and can also be purchased any time online. If purchasing online, you will be provided a bar code that can then be printed or redeemed with a mobile device. Passes will be scanned at the gate upon entering which will redeem one admission. Anyone leaving the fairgrounds and planning to return the same day can get a hand stamp which will allow them to return the same day.
- Daily Passes:
Will be in the form of a ticket and will be good for one admission.
- Season Passes:
Will be in the form of a credential card (like a credit card) and will include seven admissions. These cards will be scanned when entering the gate and will redeem an admission each time it is scanned. More than one admission can be redeemed at a time but once all seven admissions have been redeemed that card will be invalid.
- 4-H Members:
Will be provided a credential card (like a credit card) that will provide seven admissions.
The three main gate entrances will remain in the same location as they have been in recent past years.
- The Main Entrance:
The main “drive” entrance entering the fairgrounds will no longer be used to collect admission. Instead, vehicles will just pass through and go directly to the parking lot. There will be no charges for parking.
- The Walk-in Entrance:
This will become the new location for collecting admission. This is still the same “walk-in” entrance location as in the past (at the east end of “Food Alley”). There will be another ticket cabin placed at this entrance where admission passes can be purchased, and passes will be scanned upon walking through the gate.
- The West Gate Entrance:
AKA “Campground Gate”. This gate will continue to be used as an entrance to the Campground only. As in the past Campers will still receive two hangtags that will allow them to utilize this gate. Anyone riding in the vehicle will have their individual pass scanned for entrance. If someone riding in the vehicle needs to purchase a pass for gate admission, they will be able to do so at this gate also.
Animals have different bacteria than humans. Please take precautions. Avoid eating and drinking in barns. Place pacifiers, bottles and ‘sippy’ cups in diaper bags before entering livestock areas. Wash hands thoroughly upon exiting.
